Ahead of his 2nd Crawley Jobs Fair, Henry Smith MP has been awarded the Youth Friendly Badge by Youth Employment UK, a leading campaigning organisation dedicated to tackling youth unemployment across the country.
Henry said;
“I am grateful for being awarded the Youth Friendly Badge by Youth Employment UK. We all want to reduce unemployment, and ensuring our young people are in work is essential.
“For my part, I am organising my second Crawley Jobs Fair next week. Companies attending include CGG, Millennium Hotels, Transvalair UK and Vent-Axia. Additionally, organisations such as GatwickDiamondJobs.com, who look to match people’s skills with a range of positions available, will also be on hand.”
Henry Smith MP’s 2nd Crawley Jobs Fair takes place next Friday, 19th September at Crawley Civic Hall, from 10am until 3pm. It is open to all, and admission is free.
Henry continued;
“I am pleased that the National Careers Service will also be running sessions throughout the day to help attendees improve their chances at interview. The NCS will also be providing assistance with CV writing.
“I would urge any young people looking for work to come down next Friday to see if they are interested in speaking to any of the companies or exhibitors in attendance.
“If I am able to assist in any way, please call my office on 01293 934554, or email me directly at [email protected]”
Laura-Jane Rawlings, CEO of Youth Employment UK, said;
“Youth Employment UK is delighted that Henry Smith MP has joined our growing list of MPs. Youth unemployment is still one of the largest challenges facing our young people in the UK and its impact has wide-reaching effects both on the young people themselves and our economy.
“YEUK is committed to creating a more Youth Friendly culture in the UK, closing the gaps between education and employment by supporting communities to adopt “youth friendly” behaviours. Our campaign to get MPs to join this work has been supported by the Education Secretary Nicky Morgan MP and the Minister for Business Matthew Hancock MP.
“Henry Smith MP works hard in his constituency to support young people and has been involved in many fantastic initiatives. It is great to recognise that with the Youth Friendly badge and we now look forward to supporting more of this work in the community.”
