Henry Smith MP has given his support to Safer Gambling Week 2022, a campaign created to start a national conversation about safer betting and gaming.
Safer Gambling Week 2022, which takes place from 17th to 23rd October, is the public face of a year-round commitment to promoting safer gambling. More than 100,000 staff at thousands of betting and gaming venues and online sites are taking part.
Henry said;
“I’m delighted to be supporting Safer Gambling Week, it is really important that we spread the word about safer gambling and what tools are available to help with that.”
The campaign is also backed by the Gambling Commission and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
As in previous years, Safer Gambling Week 2022 is led by leading trade associations - the Betting & Gaming Council, the Bingo Association and BACTA. The goal is to trigger a national conversation about safer gambling, highlighting the tools, advice and help available to customers, and the initiatives being taken by operators to promote social responsibility throughout the year.
The key themes for Safer Gambling Week 2022 are:
- Only spend what you can afford
- Set your limits for time and money
- Gambling is not the answer to any problem
- Gambling should not interfere with your personal relationships
