Henry Smith MP has been appointed a Vice President of the British Dyslexia Association.

Henry said;

“I’m delighted to become a Vice President of the British Dyslexia Association. This is such an important organisation who undertake vital work to support the one in ten people – myself included – with dyslexia.

“I was pleased to meet with the BDA’s Chief Executive, Helen Boden, to reaffirm my support for their advocacy for people with dyslexia and the continued assistance they provide.”

The Crawley MP joins other parliamentarians who provide cross-party support for the BDA as Vice Presidents, reinforcing the widespread commitment to raise awareness of dyslexia and other neurodiverse conditions and campaign for a dyslexia-friendly society for all.

Non-parliamentary Vice Presidents of the BDA include the three-time Formula One world champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE.

The British Dyslexia Association is the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties, on which Henry serves as a Vice Chair.

The Group is committed to understanding learning difficulties, including dyslexia, across the UK and to keeping Government appraised of the situation in education and workplaces. The Group looks at what statutory and non-statutory bodies are achieving in this field.
