Henry Smith MP has thanked Crawley school students who drew the winning designs in his 2016 Christmas card competition, and has presented certificates for each pupil who took part in the contest.
The competition was won by Rebecca, a pupil at St Margaret’s Church of England Primary School, whose design will adorn the front of Henry’s Christmas card.
Two additional designs will feature on the inside of the card. These were drawn by Harry, a student at the Gatwick School, and Lily, who attends Maidenbower Infants.
Speaking at St Margaret’s, Henry said;
“Congratulations to Rebecca, Harry and Lily – their artworks are worthy winners in my competition across Crawley primary schools to find the designs for my Christmas card this year.
“My sincere thanks to each pupil for the time they all took to submit their designs.
“I’m also grateful to the teachers at St Margaret’s, Maidenbower Infants and the Gatwick School for their support for this initiative – it was a pleasure to visit each school to say thank you in person.
“It’s always difficult to choose from so many entries – the standard was very high again this year!
“I’m looking forward to welcoming Rebecca, Harry, Lily and their families to Westminster for a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament.
“I’d like to wish a Merry Christmas to all Crawley school pupils, teachers and parents.”
