Henry Smith MP has welcomed confirmation that there will be a debate in Parliament next week on services provided by Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and Network Rail.
The debate, entitled ‘Performance of Govia Thameslink railway and Network Rail’, was secured by Jeremy Quin, Member of Parliament for Horsham, supported by Henry Smith and other Surrey and Sussex MPs. It will take place in Westminster Hall on Wednesday, 16th March, at 2.30pm.
Henry said;
“I’m looking forward to Wednesday’s debate about the Southern and Thameslink rail services, which we all know have been unacceptable in recent months.
“While we know that there are going to be some delays during improvement and infrastructure investment works, such as London Bridge station, these have been happening on a far-too-frequent basis – which delays people getting to and from work, myself included as a regular commuter.
“I know that many Crawley commuters and rail users have individual experiences of the poor service – please feel free to contact me and let me know your views ahead of Wednesday’s debate.”
