Henry Smith MP and his dog Frisbee have joined the RSPCA at their Big Walkies event at Tilgate Park on Sunday, 13th September.
Henry said;
“I’m always pleased to support the RSPCA and their protection of animals, and it was great to see so many dog lovers with their pets.
“I’m grateful to all the volunteers and supporters who made this event happen, and I was pleased to hear there will be other Big Walkies events across the South East in the months ahead.
“This week I’ll be chairing the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare for the first time – this is an important way for groups such as the RSPCA to have their voice heard in Westminster. I will continue to stand up for the concerns of animal lovers across Crawley.”
Annie Kortenray, Trustee of the RSPCA Surrey East Branch, commented;
"We at Surrey East Branch and all at South Godstone Animal Centre would like to thank Henry Smith and Frisbee for joining us at our Big Walkies event in Tilgate Park last Sunday.
"This is the launch year for Big Walkies and the RSPCA are hoping to make it an annual event so we were all delighted that Mr Smith found time in his busy schedule to lend us his support and encouragement.
"The dogs made it a joyous occasion and we are now looking forward to an even bigger Big Walkies in 2016. However Sussex North Branch and RSPCA Headquarters are holding another Big Walkies on 4 October in Horsham. Anyone wishing to attend please see www.rspca.org.uk/bigwalkies2015"
