Henry Smith, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Crawley, has been to Maidenbower Junior School to see the Easter Soccer School organised by the Crawley Town FC Community Foundation.
Henry said;
“I was pleased to be able to see more of the great work of the Crawley Town FC Community Foundation at their Easter Soccer School.
“It was great to see the next generation of players – all the kids really enjoyed themselves!
“I am grateful to Birtug, Jacob, Amy and the whole team at the Foundation, who are consistently working on new projects to support people throughout our local community, and spread the word about Crawley Town.”
Today’s visit follows Henry’s continued backing of the Foundation. Last year, he joined Sergio Torres in seeing the work of the Foundation’s Kicks Project, one of a range of initiatives serving the local community in Crawley.
In November 2014, Henry gave his support to Crawley Capers in the House of Commons, a project organised by the Foundation and Autism Sussex, who won a phone vote to be awarded £50,000 of funding from the People’s Millions.
Birtug Kazim, Head of the Crawley Town FC Community Foundation, commented;
“Crawley Town Community Foundation has developed services in education and further education, health and wellbeing, inclusion, and community safety this past year, but a core part of what we deliver in the community remains our Soccer Schools and Schools’ Programme.
“It’s so rewarding to see so many children and parents continually book onto the holiday programme, as it clearly demonstrates the success of it all and the satisfaction parents in Crawley get from their children’s enjoyment in attending.”
Josh Simpson, Crawley Town FC first team player, added;
“This is a great programme for children in and around Crawley to have a footballing experience.”
