Henry Smith MP has joined the Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP, on a tour of defence and civil avionics company and leading local employer Thales UK on Thursday, 28th April.
 
Henry said;
 
“I was pleased to bring the Defence Secretary to Thales UK, one of the world’s largest defence electronics suppliers, based here in Crawley.
 
“I’m proud of their contribution to UK defence capabilities and their local input to high-tech employment and training.
 
“We saw some of the military and civilian avionics communications technology being made locally, as well as the firm’s simulator developments.
 
“I welcome Thales investing £20 million into their Crawley site, demonstrating their commitment to our town’s economy. A couple of months ago I had the chance to meet graduates there working on their sustainable electric vehicles project.”
