Henry Smith MP voted in the House of Commons last night (Tuesday, 9th June) to approve the EU Referendum Bill Second Reading .
Henry said;
“I was pleased to, on behalf of people across Crawley, vote in favour of an in/out referendum on the UK’s EU membership in the Commons.
“I've always said that this is what a Conservative majority Government would do and I welcome this being one of its first measures to pass.
“As the Foreign Secretary said during yesterday’s debate, there have been referendums on Scottish devolution, Welsh devolution, our electoral system – all while an entire generation of British voters have been denied the chance to have a say on our relationship with the European Union.”
