As Parliamentary Private Secretary, Henry Smith MP yesterday (Monday 29th June) took his seat in the House of Commons to support the Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government for the first departmental question time of the new session.
Henry said;
“As PPS to Greg Clark, I’m essentially the Secretary of State’s eyes and ears in Parliament.
“Part of this role is ensuring I support the Secretary of State when he is answering Questions in the House of Commons, and keeping a close watch on matters raised, and what needs to be done in the future.
“I’m pleased to be assisting the Communities Secretary and his team in ensuring that policies such as Help to Buy continue to be made available to people. More than 150 Crawley families have benefited from this scheme.
“Additionally, it’s great to be at the forefront of making sure more powers are devolved to local people and places. This is an issue I’ve campaigned on for many years and am delighted to help make it happen.”
