Henry Smith MP visited the British Heart Foundation furniture and electrical shop in Crawley on Friday, 18th September, to thank hard-working staff and volunteers and to find out more about the charity’s work.
Henry said;
“I want to say thank you to everyone working to help the British Heart Foundation in Crawley. The BHF is such a fantastic cause and the work they do is vital in the fight against heart disease.
“The continued hard work of these individuals helps raise vital funds to help combat heart related diseases through important research projects.
“I’d urge people in our town to pop in – either to have a look around, to maybe donate any unwanted items, or enquire about the possibility of volunteering.”
Henry met the staff and volunteers and heard more about what the BHF is doing in the local community. Every penny of profit raised in the BHF shop funds vital, life-saving research into heart disease.
Robin Beaney, Area Manager for the British Heart Foundation, commented;
“We’re really grateful to Henry for coming in, visiting our shop and meeting the team. We’re always looking for stock donations, which are absolutely essential to the success of the charity, and play a vital part in fighting coronary heart disease - the UK’s single biggest killer.
“We’re also always looking for more volunteers, so even if you can only spare an hour, pop to find out more information.”
The Crawley BHF shops are always looking for unwanted items such as clothes, shoes, accessories, books and DVDs.
All of the profits raised from donations help the BHF fight against heart disease and fund life-saving research.
The shop offers a free collection service, please call 0800 915 3000 if you would like to book.
