Henry Smith MP has encouraged good causes in Crawley to apply for a share of funding available courtesy of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Henry said;
"There’s funding available for a whole range of community projects which could benefit the town.
"This funding will be allocated to lots of different types of initiative and it’s a fantastic opportunity for local charities to get additional support.
"From promoting equal rights, to volunteering initiatives, and sports and arts schemes, a whole host of groups are able to apply for assistance."
The funding will be allocated through three trusts, which support different categories of projects.
The first funding round is open until 10th February 2017, community groups are able to submit an ‘expression of interest’ form. Organisations will then be shortlisted to complete a full application for funding.
In August 2017, interested groups will be able to apply or re-apply. £3 million will be available in each of the two rounds. The maximum a project can receive is £20,000.
The People’s Postcode Trust seeks applications for projects that focus on the prevention of poverty, promotion of human rights, equal rights and conflict resolution for some of society’s most vulnerable groups. The Postcode Local Trust supports wildlife, sustainability and volunteering initiatives. The Postcode Community Trust focuses on grassroots sports, arts, recreation and healthy living programmes.
