With little over one week to go, Henry Smith MP is preparing to host his 2nd Crawley Jobs Fair.
The Jobs Fair takes place at Crawley Civic Hall, The Boulevard on Friday 19th September, from 10am to 3pm. Admission is free to all job seekers.
Henry said;
“I am looking forward to hosting the Crawley Jobs Fair once again. By attending the Jobs Fair, job seekers get the opportunity to speak directly to employers.”
Companies attending include CGG, Millennium Hotels, Transvalair UK and Vent-Axia. Additionally, organisations such as GatwickDiamondJobs.com, who look to match people’s skills with a range of positions available, will also be on hand.
The National Careers Service will be running sessions throughout the day to help attendees improve their chances at interview. The NCS will also be providing assistance with CV writing.
Henry continued;
“I’ve given out the leaflets, sorted the literature to be read on the day, and have mentioned the Jobs Fair numerous times on social media. I’ve also posted a link to the website – www.CrawleyJobsFair.co.uk – to Facebook and Twitter, and I would urge people to do the same to raise awareness.
“While at 1.9%, unemployment in Crawley is at a six-year low, and during the first quarter of 2014, almost 200 new businesses were registered in Crawley – a record high in our town’s history.
“However, having been unemployed myself, I know that these figures aren’t of much comfort if you’re looking for work. That is why I am organising my second Crawley Jobs Fair.
“I wanted to bring together local people and a range of companies, so that anyone looking for a job, or who is seeking to do something else, can speak directly with some of the area’s key employers.”
