Henry Smith MP has spoken at Prime Minister’s Questions to support a ‘no’ vote in the Scottish independence referendum.
Henry said;
“The Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition are rightly, in my opinion, campaigning in Scotland today in support of the Better Together campaign.
“The First Secretary of State and Leader of the House of Commons, the Rt Hon William Hague MP, stood in for David Cameron at today’s Prime Minister’s Questions. I am grateful to the Speaker for allowing me to express how strongly I feel that our great kingdom should remain a united Britain.
“With many daily flights to Scottish airports, any visit to Gatwick always shows me how close our country is in terms of family and economy. At a time when people across the world are becoming more and more connected, I cannot see the benefits in ending a Union which has overcome so many problems, nor in breaking up a country that has achieved so much, such as leading the world in starting the Industrial Revolution to defeating Nazi Germany.
“We are Better Together.”
