Henry Smith, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Crawley, will be opening the St Catherine’s Hospice Abseil, down the outside of the more than 100 feet Sandman Signature Hotel in Crawley, on Friday 17th April.
The two-day event is superhero-themed, and St Catherine’s has invited participants to dress up as their favourite hero, or one of their own creation, as they descend the seven storey building.
Henry said;
“I am looking forward to abseiling over 100 feet down the Sandman Signature Hotel for St Catherine’s Hospice - dressed as Spiderman!
“It is always a pleasure to assist St Catherine’s and the inspirational work they do on for the town.
“Whenever I go to the Hospice I am always struck by the dedication and professionalism of staff - this abseil is the least I can do.
“My fundraising page has raised more than £260 already - I am extremely grateful to everyone who has generously donated.”
St Catherine’s are still looking for people to abseil on Saturday, 18th April. Registration is only £25, with a required fundraising target of £150.
Sarah Achucarro, Corporate Development Fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, commented;
“We are aiming to raise a heroic £11,000 through the abseil, which will make a huge difference in helping us to reach the £5.5m we must raise every year to continue caring for local people with a terminal illness.”
