Harry Potter (Crawley MP Henry Smith) last Friday abseiled down the Sandman Signature Hotel as part of St Catherine’s Hospice’s Superhero Abseil.

Participants wore the costumes of a range of fictional characters to descend the 100 feet tall building.

Henry said;

“I’m pleased to play my small part in helping raise awareness of the great work that St Catherine’s does for people in Crawley, Horsham, East Surrey and Mid Sussex. In 2015-16 the Hospice cared for more than 2,300 people living with a life-limiting illness.

“I’m always grateful for the opportunity to listen to the Hospice’s staff tell me about the work they do. When I’ve visited St Catherine’s previously it’s clear to see the caring and compassionate way in which it’s run.”

The abseil was open on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October, and Henry has urged people to take part in helping St Catherine’s Hospice.

Henry continued;

“It costs more than £17,000 a day to provide all of St Catherine’s care service – every pound helps.”
