Henry Smith MP has urged Crawley parents to attend an information event about the building of a new school in Forge Wood, the fourteenth neighbourhood in the town.
Forge Wood Primary is due to open in September 2016, in specifically-designed temporary accommodation close to the new school site, before transferring to its new home the following year.
Henry said;
“I was pleased to be back at Forge Wood over the weekend, and think it important there’ll be an open event about the Forge Wood Primary.
“As well as the school, the neighbourhood will provide 1,900 new homes, including around 530 council properties, in addition to a GP surgery, school, hall and local shops.”
Parents of children due to start reception next September are now able to apply for one of the 60 places at the school.
Forge Wood Primary will then grow by 60 places each year to become a reception to year 6 school serving 4 to 11 year olds.
The session will be an opportunity to view building plans and speak to staff from GLF Schools, a multi-academy trust who will run the school.
The information event will take place at Crawley Library at 4-6.45pm on Tuesday 17th November.
This event follows a similar drop-in session at Northgate Primary with regard to the proposed expansion of the school. This will be taking place at Northgate Primary School (Green Lane, Crawley, RH10 8DX) on 12th November 2015, from 3.30pm to 6pm.
