Fairer School Funding Petition
Good morning
I have recently launched a petition for fairer education funding.
Following a meeting I attended with other West Sussex MPs with the Education Secretary in September, I am working with parliamentary colleagues from across our county organising petitions so we can ensure a fairer deal for Crawley pupils.
The existing funding formula system established in the 2000s is unfair. The ten best funded areas receive an average of £6,297 per pupil per year, compared with an average of £4,208 in the ten worst funded areas, including West Sussex.
I would be extremely grateful if you would sign the petition for a fairer funding settlement.
In order to be presented in Parliament, petitions must be submitted on paper.
Please click here to download the form. I would also be happy to send you a copy of the petition via post, please either email me: [email protected] or write to me at: Henry Smith MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.
Please note that I will need to receive completed petitions, posted to my London office, by 13th November 2015.
I have written my weekly column on this issue, and have also contacted Crawley schools and the local media.

Of course, if I am able to assist, please never hesitate to let me know, either by contacting me in writing using the details above, or by calling my office on 01293 934554.
Thank you
Henry
